Often referred to as “O’Connell’s Centenary Hotel, it has evolved into one of Melbourne’s most respected gastropubs, combining elegant interiors with pub-style warmth and hospitality.
It’s widely regarded as an “Irish-style pub with upscale dining”, offering carefully curated menus that reflect modern Australian cuisine.
O’Connell’s kitchen has been shaped by renowned chefs including Greg Malouf, Cath Kalka, and Adrian Richardson, and over time the menu has evolved from modern Middle Eastern toward a broad seasonal Modern Australian focus.
The drinks list is equally impressive, with over 100 selections of wine from Australia, NZ, France, Italy, and Spain, plus around 10 craft beers on tap available at the bar.
