About Limerick Arms Hotel
Opened in 1855 by Irish founders, it has become an iconic corner pub deeply embedded in South Melbourne’s community fabric.
Owner The Celtic Club acquired the pub in 2021 to strengthen its cultural and financial base, though the venue continues to operate under its well-known pub brand.
The venue underwent a modern refresh in recent years: polished floorboards, central bar layout, air conditioning, and bright dining areas.
The menu focuses on modern Australian pub classics: generous parmas, burgers, steaks, lamb ribs, stewed meats, and specialty mains like the “Rodriquez” chicken parmi topped with jalapeños, guac, and sour cream.
Drinks include approximately 15 taps (including Carlton Draught, Furphy, Young Henrys, Brooklyn Lager) and a well-selected wine list, with highlights like a Mad Fish Riesling.
Hosts live sports viewing, trivia nights, and offers a spacious function room upstairs called the Clarendon Room, equipped with lounge seating, fireplace, and private bar.
The public bar is designed around a central rectangular bar, with both indoor and small outdoor seating, including a cozy dining area with a fireplace.
