Located right by the Yarra River in the South Wharf precinct, Melbourne Cellar Door is part of the DFO South Wharf retail and dining hub, and just a short walk from Jeff’s Shed (Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre).
A sister venue to The Valley Cellar Door, it blends a refined wine bar with casual modern Australian dining and bottle-shop retail functions.
What to find
- Wine Selection: Over 500 bottles in its cellar and around 25–50 wines by the glass, rotated weekly. The winery's focus is on small independent producers, including rare and museum-release labels, some poured via Coravin.
- Beer & Spirits: More than 130 craft beers in their fridges, and 8 rotating craft taps to keep selections fresh and varied.
- Food: Designed for grazing and sharing, from artisan cheeses, cured meats, pizzas from a wood-fired oven, to daily specials like Korean beef brisket tacos, duck ragout pappardelle, and seafood dishes. Many menu items are under $20.
Includes indoor lounge and high-table sections, plus an alfresco patio with heaters and umbrellas.
