Royal Saxon is a vibrant independent gastropub located in the heart of Richmond, Melbourne.
Housed in a restored heritage façade, the venue features a double-storey layout elegantly merging Victorian brickwork with modern glass and steel interiors, courtesy of Six Degrees Architects.
Royal Saxon delivers hearty, Italian-inflected pub fare using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. The menu includes:
- Classic parmas, crisp salads, artisan pizzas, handmade pastas, and signature mains like pork cotoletta and wagyu patties.
- Generous portion sizes, with standout dishes such as salumi misti and potato pizza.
A strong beverage offering includes:
- A well-curated list of beers, house wines, bubbles, and cocktails.
- Drink specials during happy hour daily from 3 pm–6 pm (Sat–Sun: 2 pm–5 pm), featuring $6 schooners, $7 wine & spirits, and $14 spritzers or selected cocktails.
The venue also boasts seven large screens for live sports coverage, ideal for AFL, NRL, cricket or racing events.
