Located in Newport, this iconic Victorian-era pub was revitalised in 2011, transforming a historic 1850s corner hotel into a craft-forward gastro destination.

Owner-operators Jackie Mahony and Trina Gilchirst aimed for a high-quality venue centred on craft beer, boutique wines, and local community spirit.

What it offers

Spacious, vibrant, and family-friendly with communal seating and an adjacent relaxed beer garden.
Features 16 rotating craft beer taps and a curated bottle selection of ~70 local and international brews. Regular beer tastings and guided pours are offered.
Well-known for Steak Wednesday: 250?g porterhouse with chips and salad for $25, often served with a complimentary drink to support the local community.
Casual menu includes wings, ribs, wood?fired pizzas, burgers, tacos, salads, and signature hand?cut chips with aioli.
Wine room is styled for a more intimate experience, with leather booths, polished cement floors, a private bar, and moody lighting.
Offers a deep wine list, around 60 selections, including small-batch and international labels.
