The Perseverance Hotel, affectionately known as "Persa," is a historic pub and live music venue located at 196 Brunswick Street in Fitzroy, Victoria. Established in 1865 by Stephen Richard Church, the hotel has been a staple of the Fitzroy community for over 150 years.
In 1911, the original building was demolished and replaced with the current structure, designed for the Carlton United Brewing Company. The architectural firm Sydney Smith and Ogg, known for their distinctive turreted designs, is credited with this design, featuring a prominent corner tower adorned with the initials "CB."
Today, the Perseverance Hotel operates as a lively bandroom and social hub, hosting live music events and DJ nights. The venue boasts a modern interior with a timber-lined bar, a purpose-built dance floor, and a courtyard area.
