Normanton is a town in the Gulf Country region of Queensland, Australia. It is located on the banks of the Norman River, 1,842 kilometres (1,146 mi) northwest of the state capital, Brisbane. The town is the administrative centre of the Carpentaria Shire Council. The most important landmark in Normanton is the Normanton Railway Station, which is the terminus of the Normanton to Croydon railway line.
