Established in 1944 as the Limbless Soldiers’ Bowling Club, later renamed Merthyr Bowls Club in 1978, the venue sits in a scenic riverside spot known for refreshing river breezes and stunning views.

It's one of the first clubs in Queensland to offer barefoot bowls, becoming a social hit in the 1990s for its laid-back, inclusive approach.

Bowls sessions typically run from Wednesday to Sunday in three two-hour blocks: 11 am–1 pm (excluding Wednesday), then 1–3 pm and 3–5 pm.
