About Hotel Orient

Hotel Orient, also known as The Orient Hotel, is a heritage-listed establishment located at 560 Queen Street, Brisbane, Queensland 4000, at the intersection of Queen and Ann Streets.

Architect Richard Gailey designed it, which was originally constructed as the Excelsior Hotel in 1875 and expanded in 1884.

The hotel is one of the few surviving 19th-century hotels in central Brisbane and was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 23 April 1999.

Hotel Orient offers traditional pub-style accommodation on its second floor.

The ground floor houses the main bar, which is open for lunch from 11:30 AM Monday through Friday and dinner from 5:00 PM Monday through Saturday.

The menu features "pubstronomy"—traditional pub food with a modern twist—and an extensive selection of craft beers, ciders, and regional wines.

Hotel Orient offers several function spaces suitable for various events.
