About Darling Downs Hotel
The Darling Downs Hotel, affectionately known as the Sandy Creek Pub, is a historic establishment located at 345 Sandy Creek Road in Allan, Queensland, approximately 10 kilometers west of Warwick. Established in 1866, the hotel was strategically positioned to serve gold fossickers traveling from Warwick to the Taigai Reef Diggings.
The Darling Downs Hotel has a rich history dating back to the mid-19th century. Originally built to accommodate travelers and gold seekers, it has witnessed various phases of regional development.
The current building, constructed in the 1920s, replaced the original structure and continues to serve as a testament to the area's heritage.
