If you turn up with a valid ID showing where you live on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, you can purchase unsold tickets to the show that night for $20. This ticket is on sale from 30 minutes before the show starts.

7. New Theatre

The New Theatre is an independent theatre company in the inner western Sydney suburb of Newtown, Australia. Established in October 1932, it is the oldest theatre company in continuous production in New South Wales Newtown’s favourite theatrical space has a number of deals for the frugal culture hound: as well as the usual $27 concessions; from pensioners to MEAA Equity card holders, there’s a student rush deal for $17 tickets. The tickets are available half an hour before the show, are limited to one ticket per customer and subject to availability. Also, New Theatre has Thrifty Thursdays, where all tickets are $17.
