The Melbourne RSL & Duckboard Club, located at 27 Windsor Place, Melbourne VIC 3000, is one of the city's most historic and understated Returned & Services League (RSL) sub-branches.
Established on August 8, 1915, shortly after the Gallipoli landings, it is considered the nation's oldest RSL club within Melbourne's CBD.
From 1939 to 2005, the club's spiritual home was Duckboard House at 91 Flinders Lane, a location that inspired its enduring nickname, the "Duckboard Club." After the sale of Duckboard House, the club relocated to several temporary venues before settling at its current Windsor Place address.
As an RSL sub-branch, the Duckboard Club focuses on supporting veterans and their families through welfare services, advocacy, and commemorative activities.
Unlike larger RSL clubs, it does not operate commercial hospitality services like bars or gaming facilities. Instead, members often utilise nearby establishments, such as the Mail Exchange Hotel, for social gatherings.
