COOMA, NSW
Cooma
Cooma is a town in the Snowy Mountains region of New South Wales. It is the gateway to the Snowy Mountains Scheme, a vast hydroelectricity and irrigation complex constructed in the 1950s and 1960s. The most important landmark in Cooma is the Snowy Mountains Scheme Museum, which tells the story of the construction of the Scheme.
Cooma does not have any casinos, but there are several RSL clubs, Legions Club, bowling clubs, sports bars and licenced pubs with poker machines, keno and TAB. The total number of poker machines in Cooma is limited to a maximum of 40, as per local regulations. The Cooma RSL Club has 10 poker machines, the Cooma Bowling Club has 8, and the Cooma Hotel has 12.
For a great dining experience, visitors can try the Cooma Hotel, the Cooma Ex-Services Club, or the Cooma Bowling Club. All three offer a variety of delicious meals and drinks.
